Dorset Somerset Supervision

Clinical supervision in Dorset and Somerset

Are you a complementary therapist or student, healthcare professional, independent social worker or senior staff member?

If so, where do you go for independent supervision and support? You may be formally line managed, or have clinical supervision, but do you long for another place where you can take the time to explore all those others issues that accumulate?

Supervision will give you the opportunity to step outside your day-to-day focus and create the space to look anew at yourself and your work.

Supervision and professional consultancy

I am a supervisor, trainer, assessor and mentor, with a keen interest in how to help healthcare and other professionals to reflect on and explore their practice; see About Me for further details.

I often find that a supervision session is like opening a window, and helps the supervisee to see more clearly the often-complex issues, which often lie below the surface of your “competent self” in the workplace, whatever your work role.

Supervision can, above all, allow you the opportunity to step outside the norms, which you may have unconsciously developed in practice, or that as a new practitioner you may bring to practice.

I will work alongside you to help you unpack these issues, and to facilitate your understanding, so you are more able meet your clients or work with confidence and understanding. The session is very much your safe space, and my approach is person centred, using reflective practice models and creative tools as we go.

Individual and group supervision

Individual sessions

Supervision sessions are usually an hour or an hour and a half, at intervals to suit you.

We will agree the parameters of the session before we start and use time at the end to summarise the issues raised. You may wish to keep a reflective journal, or find other mediums like drawing or sculpture alongside your supervision sessions.

Group sessions

I also offer group sessions for practitioners who want to work together in supervision on a regular basis.

I can also offer consultancy on an individually negotiated basis for organizations or committees.

Training and professional consultancy – some testimonials

Peer supervision training

I offer training in peer supervision in the UK, Europe and Australia.

Peer supervision seminar

“The lecturer was very consistent and creative, and the energy with which she operates brings forth a feeling of peace and focus. I look forward to the next seminar.” Participant

Executive Board workshop

“We are all extremely pleased with how constructive this workshop was. The result exceeded our expectations. Aside from the current issues faced by our Executive Board, we were able to resolve some much deeper matrices, which were inconspicuously weaving our interpersonal relationships. This was an excellent workshop.” Participant
